Why learn a foreign language?

Because it will enrich your life!

Your reasons for enrolling in FALC may include:

  • Career enhancement: If you're transferred to a foreign land, you'll need to speak the language. A second language is a skill sought by many employers.

  • Travel: Your trip abroad will be that much more rewarding if you can relate better to the people. Don't be a stranger in a foreign land.

  • A need for tutoring: Students enrolled in other language classes, foreign exchange students may need a little extra help. Home schooled students needing to learn languages for school credit or just for fun. At FALC we tutor students of all ages.

  • Breaking down cultural barriers: A second language can help break down the barriers that divide nations around the world. Missionaries, business men and women, American and other countries embassy staffs.

Isn't it difficult to learn a foreign language?

Not the way it's taught at FALC; classes are friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and the emphasis is on having fun while you learn.

  • Yolande's approach is through Conversation:

"I start with conversation, because people want to start using the language right away. They want a practical approach. So we start speaking the language immediately. With French, for example, I will never speak to students in English -- everything will be in French. This helps students to learn quickly. Of course, to speak correctly, you must also learn the grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, which we teach in conjunction with conversation."

    Personalized instruction:

FALC's classes allow close interaction for ample individual instruction and pacing tailored to the student's needs and abilities.
